5 Things You Should Know: Round 8

1. Brisbane Put On The Points

The Broncos may have found it difficult to score points this season but they have a healthy history of scoring plenty of them against the Rabbitohs.

In their last three games against South Sydney, they’ve scored over 30 points each time – which is also probably why they’ve won three straight games against them!

2. The Bunnies’ Big Margins

The Broncos’ losses this season have been painful to watch for their fans considering they’ve been by just one, two and three points.

The Rabbitohs on the other hand haven’t been so lucky and have had some larger margins to deal with when they’ve been defeated as all four of their losses were by 14 points or more.

3. Rabbitohs Really Need A Win At Home

Your home ground is supposed to be a fortress and a place you want the other sides to dread having to play at – this isn’t hasn’t quite been the case for the Rabbitohs so far in 2017.

Unfortunately for them they’ve lost both their home games (0-2) at ANZ Stadium and an ‘away’ game there as well which means they’re 0-3 in front of their home fans which will have them very eager for a win on Friday night.

4. Beating The Big Dogs

The Rabbitohs have won three and lost four, so it’s been a bit of a mixed bag for them this year.

Those three wins do have them sitting in 11th spot although those three wins were against current bottom eight sides.

Now it’s still quite early in the season so there will be some movement on the NRL ladder in the following weeks but they are no doubt aiming to take down some of the tougher targets and really make their mark on the competition as soon as possible.

5. The Broncos’ Brutal Run

The Broncos’ season has started very similarly to the Rabbitohs as they’ve only won four and lost three.

The upside for the Broncos is that they’ve played every team in the top eight except the St.George Illawarra Dragons and have only lost three of those games.

The Broncos can’t go easy on the lower placed sides though considering last week they barely escaped with their win over the 15th placed Gold Coast Titans.
