Young Broncos To Take On NSW

FIVE contracted Broncos’ players will turn out for the Queensland under-18s side in Sydney on Wednesday night.

The match will be the main curtain raiser to the return State of Origin game at ANZ Stadium.

Current Broncos under-20s players Tyson Smoothy, Eddie Blacker and back rower Brandon Russell will all start in the forward pack against NSW under 18s.

The trio have been part of Brisbane’s National Youth Competition team for most of the season.

Young halves Cory Paix and Tanah Boyd are also in the team.

The pair are yet to appear in the NYC competition as they only turn 17 this year.

Ex-Queensland Origin centre Josh Hannay is the coach, with former Broncos’ NRL hooker Michael Roberts his assistant.
