Do you feel like a good luck charm?

Obviously it’s been a good start to my career. We have turned the corner a little bit in the last three games, but that’s probably not to do with me. As a team we are playing well and we’re heading in the right direction.

Is it nice to debut in winning style?

It’s been awesome since I have come into the side. The boys have been accommodating and made me feel welcome.

What was your debut week like leading into the Broncos game?

It was a tough week for the club. There was a lot of outside speculation, but I tried not to worry about that too much. My focus was the game and putting in a good performance and that’s what I did.

Do you pinch yourself about how quickly it’s all come together?

I’ve been here for a couple of years now so I have just been waiting for an opportunity. It’s been a long time coming and now that it’s here, I didn’t expect it to go so well so early. I’m just trying to enjoy the experience and improve each week.

What’s the feedback been like from the coaching staff?

It’s been positive, but obviously there is still plenty for me to work on. I’ve still got plenty of areas in my game that I want to improve on, but I just want to keep on doing my job for the team every week.

Did you doubt that you would make it one day?

I just trusted the process and just focused on my goals. I’ve been here for two years and there just hasn’t been an opportunity with injuries or suspension, but when Moses received the one week suspension, I just had to take my opportunity.

What did Des say to about what 2017?

I always knew that I was going to be the next half in line. I needed to put in some good performances throughout the trials and I thought I did that. I just had to be ready for an opportunity and play consistent footy in reserve grade.

What’s it like to debut at an older age?

Looking back on it now, I’m thankful I got two full years in the New South Wales Cup. I think it’s really important, especially for a half to learn the game and understand the structures we play here. Playing Cup and playing against men every week has definitely helped my development and helped me be the player I am today.

What’s it like playing alongside Josh Reynolds?

He played really well on the weekend. He brings so much energy, enthusiasm and pushes on every play. It makes my job a lot easier because I can just control the game, kick to corners and let him run wild. He is a big part of what we do here and he personifies everything this club stands for.
