Now is the Time to Win in Sydney

Wednesday’s Origin match at ANZ Stadium may not be a decider, but the Blues know if they don’t perform, all the hard work from game one means nothing according to winger Brett Morris.

New South Wales started the series in fine style after walking away from Suncorp Stadium with an impressive 28-4 victory and forcing the Maroons to make a number of changes ahead of the second match of the series.

Winning form is good form and it means nothing if the Blues don’t deliver the same result in two days-time.

“We have only won one game of football and it’s a three game series. If we don’t perform well on Wednesday night, than game one means nothing. It’s a fresh start and we need to play good if we want to beat this Queensland side,” said Morris.

The 30-year old is aware of what lies ahead should the Maroons draw level in the series.

A game-three decider in Brisbane, which looms as a possible farewell to two of Queensland’s greatest players in Cooper Cronk and Johnathan Thurston will be huge task for the Blues.

“There is a chance for us to try and win a series in front of our home fans and our families and friends. Going to Suncorp at any stage is always hard to win a game of football, but whenever those guys retire they seem to grow an extra leg and play their best footy. It’s certainly something we will be looking to stop,” added Morris.
