Key Match-Ups v Titans

Today’s clash against the Gold Coast Titans is set to be fought out in some key positions across the paddock.

The Half-backs

The battle of the number sevens is set to be a beauty!

With Chad Townsend having arguably his best match of 2017 in last week’s victory over the Penrith Panthers, the Sharks’ premiership winning half is controling his side around the park like a pro.

Ash Taylor on the other hand is a young half on the rise and has formed a handy combination with Kane Elgeyin the Titans halves so expect these two to test the Sharks defensive line.

Fresh off signing a new three year deal with the Sharks though, expect Townsend to come out firing in tonight’s ANZAC Day Round clash.

The Props

Two of the best power prop forwards in the NRL today.

Andrew Fifita has been putting up impressive statistics week in, week out in 2017 running for 1094 metres and after crossing for a try last weekend, expect the Sharks #8 to lead the way again today.

Although James hasn’t run the large numbers like Andrew, his defence has been impressive and this will be something the Sharks attacking threats must keep in mind.

With Origin just around the corner, expect this match-up to have a little feeling!

The Back-rowers

Wade Graham, one of the form players in the competition at the moment up against one of the hardest back-rowers around.

Graham’s defensive effort last week against the Panthers was something special, not to mention his effort against the Melbourne Storm’s Cooper Cronk the week before. Graham’s talk and physicality on field is crucial to the Sharks’ winning prospects so expect a big game from our vice-captain.

Chris McQueen on the otherhand has recently announced he will be leaving the Titans at year’s end so Sharks Members and fans and players alike can expect the former Origin player to give his all for the remainder of 2017.
