Geoff's ride turns red and blue

Updated: December 7, 2017

Geoff is undoubtedly one of the nib Newcastle Knights’ biggest supporters, and on Wednesday he was given an early Christmas present that almost left him speechless.

The Knights surprised the red and blue fanatic by transforming his mobility scooter into the ultimate Knights mobile, which was delivered to his house by coach Nathan Brown.

Decked out in red and blue with the Knights logo, Geoff’s scooter was a sight to behold.

“I cannot honestly put it into words,” Geoff told Knights TV.

“I can’t thank everyone enough for making this happen.”

After approaching The Wests Group to buy a flag for his scooter because his old one had been ripped, Wests decided to go one better and gave Geoff his dream ride.

Without a driver’s licence and an injury to his back many years ago, Geoff’s scooter is his only form of transport.

“When things happen like this, it is just such an uplifting experience and I can’t put it into words how much it means,” explained Geoff.

“It enables me to get up the lift at the stadium for games and get up to the first floor to get to my seat.

“It has definitely changed my life and it is now going to be noticed at every home game.”

With three months to go until the 2018 season kicks-off, Geoff can’t wait to show off his scooter and again proudly support the team that he loves so much.

“Next season is going to be amazing with the recruitment of the new guys and the guys who are already here,” he smiled.

“It is going to be a terrific season, it is only looking up and the Wests involvement is incredible.

“I have never doubted the spirit of our Newcastle Knights, they have always had that from day one and it gives me something to look forward to.”
