Parramatta Eels players Bevan French, Will Smith, Josh Hoffman and Nathan Davis today visited Santa Teresa, an indigenous community located in the Northern Territory.

Santa Teresa has approximately 600 residents, with 121 of these students at the Lytentye Apurte Catholic Education Centre. The Eels spent the day meeting some of students, hosting a Q&A with students and it’s teachers, running a skills and drills session teaching the Years 3-7 participants the game of rugby league, giving away prizes and taking plenty of pictures and signing plenty of autographs.

Established as a Catholic Mission in the 1950s, Santa Teresa became home to people from Alice Springs and the mission at the former gold mining town of Arltunga. Known as Ltyentye Apurte to the local Eastern Arrernte speakers, Santa Teresa is 85km south east of Alice Springs and within the Rodinga Ward of the MacDonnell Regional Council.
